About
Learnistan exists to prove one thing: that world-class technology can be built by and for the communities the tech industry overlooks — and can stand on its own feet doing it.
The problem
In Afghanistan and across displaced communities, brilliant women and young people are locked out — of classrooms, of the internet economy, of the tools the rest of the world takes for granted. The technology that could reach them is built for someone else, in another language, for another life.
What we do about it
We make products that meet these communities where they actually are — in their language, on their terms, with their dignity intact. And we build them from the inside: designed and made by people who have lived what our users are living. That is not charity. It is the reason our products work where outsiders' don't.
How we're built
Learnistan is a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation, majority-owned by the nonprofit LEARN. The structure is deliberate: it locks the mission permanently while letting us operate, raise investment, and grow like a real company. We can scale. We can't drift.
The foundation — reach, trust, and access on the ground.
The engine — builds the technology and makes it sustainable.
Each built for a community that needs it, each with its own identity.
The team
Learnistan is led by a team that does not study these communities from the outside. We come from them.

The vision
In ten years, Learnistan will have reached millions of people the technology world forgot — growing from Afghan women and youth to underserved communities elsewhere, always building locally, always built to last. We are not trying to be the biggest technology company. We are trying to be the one that finally showed up.
